Microsoft is expanding its data center footprint with plans to acquire over 200 acres of land in Hebron and Union Township, Ohio. This strategic move is part of a broader initiative to develop multiple data center campuses in Licking County, including sites in New Albany and Heath. The Hebron site, located west of Ohio 79 and between North High Street and Canyon Road, will feature six data center buildings, each employing between 50 and 75 people.
The development is expected to commence in late 2024 or early 2025, with the first buildings operational by 2026 or 2027. This project underscores Microsoft's commitment to enhancing its cloud infrastructure to support the growing demand for digital services and to contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and investing in community programs.
Microsoft's investment in Hebron is part of a larger $1 billion initiative to develop data center campuses in central Ohio, reflecting the region's strategic importance due to its skilled workforce, robust infrastructure, and favorable business environment.
