NJFX is the first Tier 3 carrier-neutral colocation campus that intersects where subsea cables from the United States, South America, Europe and the Caribbean meet. When we launched our campus in September 2016, it was with one simple goal in mind: to allow our customers to take control of their networks and stop relying on traditional backhaul solutions.
To get its traffic to another continent, a business needs to connect its data center to one of the submarine cable landing stations along the east coast of the United States. This has historically required the services of middlemen—companies that backhaul traffic from a business’ data center to an access point in a colocation center/carrier hotel before carrying on to the landing station. The entire process is costly and results in the risk for points of failure at the different locations the traffic is routed through.
NJFX has disrupted this model completely. We built our campus to ensure that our customers’ traffic no longer needed to take the detours imposed by backhaul solutions. Our colocation facility is adjacent to a subsea cable landing station owned by Tata Communications in Wall, New Jersey. Through access to our Meet Me Room (MMR) within the cable landing station, our customers enjoy direct connectivity to Europe, South America and the Caribbean. NJFX has redefined proximity by providing direct interconnection options at the cable-head without recurring cross-connect charges. For our customers, this means reliable networks, maximized performance and reduced costs.
Our 64,800 sq. ft. data center has capacity for over 1,100 cabinets and offers direct access to multiple Tier 1 Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and fiber providers, as well as unprecedented connectivity to support the growing needs of carrier-neutral operators, carriers, enterprises and federal and state government entities.
