The Health Information Portability Acount Act (HIPAA) states that any health care provider, clearinghouse, or health care plan that electronically maintains or transmits health information pertaining to an individual MUST have contingency plans that include backup, recovery, and an emergency mode plan. ClearData can be an integral part of your plan.
The ClearData solution assists Covered Entities, Health Care Providers, Payers, and Clearinghouses - to ensure data availability, honor compliance mandates, and enable these organizations to achieve HIPAA compliance. ClearData Networks managed service solutions can help health care organizations from the smallest rural clinic to urban medical center ensure their data is reliably accessible, secure and compliant.
We offer:
HIPAA Compliance and Risk Consulting
ClearData provides an expert team of application and infrastructure specialists to analyze and develop business hosting services to comply with corporate and government compliance requirements. Our systems administrators have a deep knowledge of healthcare systems widely used in the marketplace. We measure the IT-related risks associated with key regulations and standards including the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act, Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX), and SAS 70.
SaaS Infrastructure Readiness Consulting and Implementation
As traditional software is retooled to be delivered on-demand over the web, migrating existing technology and revenue models to SaaS can be complex and, without best practices, can be costly or even detrimental to a business. Nearly every aspect of operating a SaaS model is different from that of a traditional software business. ClearData guides clients who wish to migrate to a SaaS model in proper infrastructure and connectivity requirements. Once the SaaS migration strategy is defined ClearData provides complete migration and cutover services to eliminate downtime and single points of failure. These strategies include secure mirroring, incremental backups of the mirror, disk-level encryption, secure VPN, and managed SSL services.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Services
We work with our clients to provide access to key systems in the event of disaster. Local incidents like building fires or floods, regional events such as earthquakes, or national crises like pandemic illnesses can wipe a company off the map if disaster recovery is an after-thought.
In the DR/BC process, ClearData remotely mirrors mission-critical systems to our underground Tier III data center in Phoenix, encrypts the data and places the system in a secure, fault-tolerant environment where no single point of failure exists. We then backup the mirror to a storage area network located in our Boston facility. We then test these mirrored systems and backups on a regular basis with our clients to ensure on-demand readiness.
Dedicated Server Hosting (non-virtualized)
ClearData leases an entire server not shared with anyone, providing our clients with full control over the server(s), including choice of operating system, hardware, etc. ClearData ensures that the hardware performs, and maintains the operating system. Additionally we provide service monitoring and all infrastructure to ensure uptime, including redundant power and cooling.
Virtual Dedicated Server Hosting
ClearData provides a virtual server in a fault-tolerant, redundant server farm. If a physical machine fails, the virtual server immediately moves to a healthy machine. Like physical dedicated hosting, we ensure that the server not shared with anyone, providing our clients with full control over the virtual server(s), including choice of operating system, memory allocation, storage configuration, and processor performance. In addition, we mirror the virtual server and provide incremental backups at no extra charge. And because the server is virtual, we provide enhanced monitoring 24/7.
Collocation Services
Some clients just need an infrastructure within which to locate their own server farm. ClearData provides secure, access-controlled space in our data center for our client to locate their equipment. We provide the bandwidth, power, and cooling, along with basic monitoring services. This approach offers our clients a safe, secure environment where they can enjoy less latency and the freedom to focus on their core business.
Medical Image Archiving
In medical imaging, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) are computers, commonly servers or network application storage (NAS) boxes, dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images. This data can consume Pedabytes of storage, and timely retrieval can be a costly undertaking for internal IT. ClearData provides specific solutions around the storage and retrieval of PACS data using the industry’s newest secure storage and retrieval technologies.
Secure Exchange
Sometimes a doctor needs to communicate about protected health information (PHI) via e-mail. Unencrypted messages can expose the healthcare provider with significant breach penalties. As a result e-mail encryption offers a safe-harbor under HIPAA when it comes to e-mail communication. ClearData provides secure e-mail services using encrypted Exchange.
