Due to its geographic location, Smartdc Heerlen is located 100 meters above sea level according to NAP standards.

Its remote physical location at a distance from large network clusters and strategic placement above sea level add additional layers of location-based security to this data center.

Smartdc Heerlen is directly connected to DE-CIX in Frankfurt, one of the major internet exchanges serving as a gateway between Central Europe and the world.

Smartdc Heerlen is independent from Amsterdam internet exchanges and networks, and it's still fully operational in case of network overload or failure in Amsterdam.
