Google Westpoort

Google's new data center in the Westpoort industrial estate represents a significant investment in the Dutch municipality of Groningen. The tech giant has allocated over €600 million to the project, which is expected to create 125 new jobs and emphasize sustainability. The data center will span eight hectares within a 20-hectare plot purchased by Google in 2022. In line with their commitment to environmental responsibility, Google has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement for 479MW with windfarm operators and plans to return 120 percent of the water used in their data centers by 2030.
