Datagrid Invercargill Campus is an expansive data center project located in Makarewa, near Invercargill on New Zealand's South Island. The campus spans 49 hectares (121 acres) and is designed to be a carbon-neutral facility. It aims to leverage the region's cool climate and abundant renewable energy resources, primarily from the Manapouri hydropower scheme.
The campus will feature up to ten 10MW modules initially, with a potential total capacity of 150MW, and future plans to expand up to 1GW. The project includes the construction of a new power substation and a cable landing station for the Te Waipounamu subsea cable, enhancing international connectivity between New Zealand and Australia.
