Orbit data centre is designed to be fault tolerant, so there are no single points of failure. We can handle any piece of equipment failing without an outage to the IT equipment. It's also concurrently maintainable, meaning we can maintain, or even completely replace, any system or plant without suffering an outage.

Each subsystem has been considered. Dual-feed power is supplied to each rack from an independent bank of UPS. Each power source has its own main board and its own generator. A spare generator is available to automatically take over should a primary fail with 80,000 litres of diesel held on-site. The entire facility has an impressive PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) rating of 1.3.
