KIO QRO2 is a large greenfield data center currently under construction in the El Marques industrial area of Queretaro, Mexico. When fully built out, it will offer a massive 12,917 square meters (139,000 sq ft) of IT space across three data halls of 1,200 sq m each. The facility is designed with a concurrently maintainable N+1 electrical infrastructure providing 12MW of total IT power capacity. It will feature redundant power distribution with 6 main electrical blocks plus a reserve block. The cooling infrastructure is being optimized for energy efficiency with an N+1 redundant design.
Connectivity will be highly robust with two diverse underground service entry routes, carrier-neutral access through more than 20 providers interconnected from KIO's existing QRO1 and QRO3 data centers via dark fiber, and KIO's high-speed inter-data center network. Physical security will include perimeter fencing, multi-factor biometric access controls, around-the-clock surveillance and guard staff. The initial 4MW phase at QRO2 is scheduled to be ready-for-service in Q1 2024, with capacity expanding to 8-12MW by 2024-2025.
