TELEHOUSE Tokyo Tama - 2

KDDI opened the second building at TELEHOUSE TOKYO Tama, a suburban base for data center services in Japan, service commencing October 1, 2013.

The second building offers a maximum available power of 10KVA per rack in order to accommodate high-power electronics, which are increasing in number along with the prevalence of cloud services. With the enhanced power capabilities, it delivers a flexible, high-performance colocation environment. The new data center also caters to customer requirements for disaster recovery and business continuity plans, owing to its seismic base isolation system and the location being well situated with respect to the expected effects of earthquakes and other natural disasters in the region.

The data centers are situated at a location 30 kilometers away from the metropolitan area that has a lower risk of being affected by regional earthquakes and other disasters (rated AAA (highest) rank in the 6th regional earthquake risk measurement survey conducted by the Bureau of Urban Development Tokyo Metropolitan Government). In addition, the buildings are built on a seismic base isolation system to resist long-period ground motion. With such disaster-preparedness, the new data center caters to customer requests for disaster recovery and business continuity plans for areas other than the metropolitan area or other parts of the Kanto region.

To ensure our customers' secure utilization of IT systems, KDDI has earned ISO/IEC 27001:2005 and JIS Q 27001:2006 certifications for its ISMS (information security management system).
