Keppel Corporation has secured its first development project in Japan, acquiring an AI-ready hyperscale data center project in Tokyo. Named Keppel Data Centre Tokyo 2, this facility will be Keppel’s second data center asset in Japan, marking a significant expansion in the country’s data infrastructure market.
Reportedly by Japanese media, the data center will be located on the former Sagamihara Campus of the Vocational Skills Development College. The facility, set to be ready for service in 2027, will feature a planned gross floor area of more than 300,000 sq ft (approximately 27,871 sqm) and will be developed using the latest hyperscale designs and standards.
