YYCIX - Calgary Internet Exchange

The Calgary Internet Exchange (YYCIX) is a volunteer-driven initiative that provides an open-access ethernet fabric for networks to interconnect locally. This Internet Exchange (IX) facilitates low-latency, high-bandwidth traffic exchange, making it an ideal solution for ISPs, transit providers, DNS services, and content networks. By leveraging the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), networks can announce their routes and exchange traffic efficiently. YYCIX operates multiple peering switches across Calgary, including locations in the Downtown, South-East, and North-East regions. Notably, there are no mandatory recurring membership or port fees, making it a cost-effective option for network interconnection.
