Pacific Wave Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is a high-performance, distributed Internet Exchange designed to facilitate seamless connectivity among research and education institutions in the United States and their international partners. Located strategically on the US West Coast, Pacific Wave connects Trans-Pacific undersea cables to US National and Regional Research Networks, such as Internet2 and ESnet, enabling large-scale scientific collaborations and data sharing.

Pacific Wave offers primary points of presence in Los Angeles, Sunnyvale, and Seattle, providing advanced measurement, monitoring, and analytic tools to ensure optimal network performance. This infrastructure supports a wide range of scientific disciplines, including high-energy physics, earth sciences, astronomy, biology, and biomedical engineering, as well as emerging technologies like machine learning and artificial intelligence.

As a joint project of CENIC and the Pacific Northwest Gigapop (PNWGP), Pacific Wave is committed to enhancing global research capabilities by providing reliable, high-speed connectivity and fostering international collaboration.
