IXP Namibia is a non-profit organization dedicated to establishing and operating an Internet exchange point (IXP) and related infrastructure for the benefit of Namibian Internet users. Launched with the assistance of the African Union Commission and facilitated by the Ministry of ICT, the IXP received its operating license from CRAN in 2019. Based in Windhoek, it provides a neutral location for ISPs, educational institutions, and financial institutions to exchange local traffic.

The IXP aims to create a domestic Internet ecosystem, keeping local traffic local, reducing latency between ISPs, and lowering interconnection costs. It also enhances resilience by minimizing the impact of international link failures on local content and services. The physical infrastructure includes switches, routers, and servers, hosted at the Telecom Namibia Data Centre.

By fostering local content creation and hosting initiatives, IXP Namibia attracts businesses, customers, and content service providers, contributing to the growth of the local Internet economy.
