HOUIX - Houston Internet Exchange

HOUIX (Houston Internet Exchange) is a Free Internet Exchange Point (FIXP) established in 2019. It provides a physical Ethernet switched infrastructure for ISPs and internet-related businesses to exchange IP traffic. Located in Houston, TX, HOUIX aims to enhance internet development and traffic optimization in the region by offering free peering services. This initiative is supported by generous contributors who provide the necessary services, hardware, and labor.

HOUIX operates on Cisco Nexus switches and a Cisco ASR-1002-F route server, ensuring robust and reliable connectivity. Participants can benefit from public peering, private VLANs, and remote peering services, making it a versatile and valuable resource for network operators.
