GLV-IX - Government of Latvia Internet Exchange

The Government of Latvia Internet Exchange (GLV-IX) is operated by the Latvian Radio and Television Centre (LVRTC), a 100% state-owned company. GLV-IX aims to enhance internet connectivity within Latvia by providing a neutral, not-for-profit platform for local internet traffic exchange. It operates multiple Points of Presence (POPs) across Latvia, including locations in Riga, Valmiera, Daugavpils, Ventspils, and Liepaja. By facilitating local traffic exchange, GLV-IX helps reduce transit costs, lower latency, and improve the speed and reliability of internet services for providers and end-users in Latvia. The exchange is open to both large and small networks, promoting a more independent and self-sufficient internet ecosystem in the country.
