The Formosa Open eXchange (FOX IX) is a national-grade network switching center in Taiwan, designed to enhance the efficiency of cross-domain transmission for domestic public networks. Managed by the National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC), FOX IX provides a robust platform for network peering, offering services such as IPv4/IPv6 peering, year-round maintenance, and comprehensive network security protection.

FOX IX features a resilient architecture with master nodes in Hsinchu, Taichung, and Tainan, ensuring mutual backup and high-speed communication through a 100G backbone. The center also incorporates AI-driven mechanisms for network anomaly prediction, root cause analysis, and automatic obstacle repair, significantly improving service quality. Additionally, FOX IX offers multilayer information security protection, including RPKI route authentication, route filtering, and DDoS protection.

By providing access nodes across northern, central, and southern Taiwan, FOX IX facilitates high-speed interconnection for government networks, academic networks, research networks, and the Academia Sinica network, meeting the diverse connection needs of various applications. This strategic infrastructure supports the healthy development of Taiwan's Internet exchange, promoting efficient and cost-effective data transmission across the country.
