Peering

The Łódź Telecommunications Node (IX.LODZ.PL) is an Ethernet-based neutral peering point located in Łódź, Poland. Established in 2009, it aims to facilitate traffic exchange between operators and share transmission costs to Warsaw, where cheaper wholesale internet access and connections with other operators and service providers are available. Over time, the exchange has expanded to include companies connected in Warsaw and Wrocław (WRIX).

Participants need their own IP addressing, an AS number, and a BGP router to join. The node offers various forms of participation, including IPv4/IPv6 traffic exchange, transit/peering to other IXs in Poland, L2 transit to interconnected ISP local nodes, and setting up dedicated BGP sessions with service providers. The project also supports special transmission services and inter-operator cooperation, ensuring effective redundancy and competitiveness.
