In 1995 the first IDS & Unitelm Data Center was born , with the start of activities on the Internet network

The initiative took the name of "Glauco", because it was symbolically linked to the deeds of Glauco and Scilla, protagonists of the Greek myth of the same name. The myth narrates the love between the two, in the splendid setting of the Strait of Messina, and reinforces the values ​​of perseverance, tenacity, continuity up to the concept of immortality.

The new Data Center in Rome was inaugurated in October 2016 .

An advanced infrastructure capable of reducing, more than in the past, criticality and guaranteeing the necessary level of continuity, of rationalizing the existing, optimizing energy consumption and consolidating the IT environment in order to better plan the future and growth.

Certifications

The I&U Data Centers, as well as the entire infrastructure, are ISO 27001 certified, extended to ISO 27017 and ISO 27018 controls, on information security management. The Data Centers are in a technological infrastructure qualified by the National Cybersecurity Agency (ACN), present on the Marketplace for the PA .

The I&U DataCenters host, through hundreds of servers, over a thousand websites, approximately 1,800 domains, email services for approximately 20,000 users, audio and video streaming services.

The Internet delivery is made through three carriers with scalable bandwidth based on the performance needs of the customers. A secondary Data Center is also active for the systems that use the Disaster Recovery service.

The main Data Center (Rome site) offers organizations, companies, associations and networks a range of services and activities that guarantee a fast, powerful and highly reliable presence in the “internet world”.
