Echelon DUB20

Located in Arklow, Co Wicklow, Echelon's DUB20 facility is set to become one of Europe's greenest large data centers. Situated on a 100-acre site, the data center will have an initial footprint of 45,000 square meters (484,000 square feet). Phase 1 of the project will deliver 90 MW of firm IT load capacity, with a planning application in progress to increase this to 204 MW. The energy center on-site boasts a generation capacity of 293 MW, supported by a 220kV grid substation.

Strategically positioned one hour south of Dublin Airport, DUB20 leverages local renewable power sources alongside extensive land holdings. The facility will receive primary power from the national grid, with the ability to connect up to 1 GW of renewable power to the on-site substation. Customers have the option to enhance their green energy usage through direct supply agreements with nearby generators, ensuring a sustainable power solution.

The site offers robust connectivity options, with seven fibre carriers providing direct links to subsea cables connecting Ireland, the UK, Europe, and beyond. Currently, 35 acres of the site are being developed, with ample scope for further sustainable and renewable projects and additional data center expansions.
