Digital Edge's EDGE1 facility is a carrier-neutral data center strategically located in the heart of downtown Jakarta, Indonesia. It aims to serve customers' mission-critical infrastructure needs by providing interconnection to a rich industry ecosystem through secure, reliable, and low-latency connections.
EDGE1 provides a total of 6MW of IT load capacity across its purpose-built 8-floor data center building. Five floors are dedicated to data halls while three floors house utilities. The facility is rated to withstand earthquakes up to 8.5 RS per Indonesian national standards and situated in a zone considered safe from earthquakes and flooding.
The data center offers 2,160 square meters of colocation space with capacity for 1,200 racks. It has a raised floor with cold aisle containment and can support rack densities from 2kVA up to 8kVA per rack. The ceiling height is 6.4 meters slab-to-slab with a 1,500 kg/m2 floor load rating.
On the power side, EDGE1 pulls utility feeds from two diverse substations and has 2N UPS system redundancy. It provides N+1 backup generator redundancy with 24 hours of fuel reserve. The cooling infrastructure uses a redundant N+2 air-cooled DX system.
Physical security measures include a 5-meter perimeter wall with three zones, mantraps, 24/7 manned guards, biometric access controls, motion detection, and CCTV monitoring. The fire suppression utilizes a triple-layer system with VESDA, gas suppression, and dry-pipe pre-action sprinklers.
EDGE1 has diverse fiber routes to major data centers in Greater Jakarta and enables direct peering with partners like IIX, OpenIX and EPIX internet exchanges as well as CloudXchange. It offers 99.999% power SLA, 99.99% temperature SLA of 18-27°C and 99.99% humidity SLA of 30-70%RH.
