The dataR GmbH is part of the Hamburg-based x-ion GmbH, a company that has accumulated over 15 years of experience as a cloud provider for large private cloud environments. x-ion GmbH is renowned for its tailored and high-quality cloud and infrastructure solutions and has established itself as a pioneer in the cloud business. Facility Details

- Certification and Capacity: The data center is certified according to EN 50600 VK-3 and offers space for over 600 racks (800mm width, 47U) in 25 separate fire compartments.

- Connectivity: The data center features carrier-neutral connectivity, accessible via DE-CIX, major carrier hubs in Hamburg and Frankfurt, and remote peering with over 400 carriers and ISPs.

- Location and Accessibility: Strategically located near the A23 highway, the data center is only 15 km from Hamburg Airport or Hamburg Central Station.

- Cooling and Efficiency: The rack cooling is fully based on water cooling, compatible with standard hardware for backdoor cooling or direct liquid cooling systems, achieving a PUE value of 1.225 or 1.088.

- Operations and Service: The operational concept is aligned with ITIL-V4, offering a professional hands-on service, separate rooms with daylight for pre-installation, and the option to book a conference room.


Sustainability and Heat Recovery

- CO2-Positive Operation: The data center is CO2-positive due to a comprehensive heat recovery concept that supplies the surrounding neighborhood and a school complex with heat. It meets the certification requirements of DE-UZ 228 (Blauer Engel).


Power Supply

-Redundant Power Connection: The power supply is provided through a redundant main power connection (2N) with a maximum power of 6 MW and a maximum customer IT load of 5 MW. The power supply is at the 10-kV level from redundant substations. The facility includes modular UPS systems (A & B) with 2N redundancy and a backup power system (NEA) with N+1 redundancy (9.9 MW), 48 hours of HVO reserve, and a 24-hour delivery SLA.
