GigaCenter is located close to the international airport in on a major highway Kelowna BC Canada. Kelowna was rated by CIO magazine as one of the best and safest places in North America to locate a datacenter. Phase 1 of the building has 30,000 sq. ft., Phase 2 will expand that to 120,000 sq. ft. Total power capacity is 40 Megawatts.

The datacenter portion was designed and engineered by IBM's Big Green Team to a highly efficient datacenter with a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.38. Fueled by hydroelectric power GigaCenter is one of, if not the, greenest datacenters in its class in the world.
