MekongNet is the only ISP/IXP in Cambodia with two identical IDCs (Internet Data Center) which located at different locations in Phnom Penh city. Each IDC site powered by different electricity sources and backup by standby Genset running in auto mode. Internet gateways and DNS systems are hosted on these IDCs and distribute bandwidth to connected POPs where deliver the internet traffic to users.
Beside two central IDCs in Phnom Penh capital, there are some several POPs in difference cities and towns which are available to deliver services closely to customers as well as providing diverse connectivity to ensure high availability of service. Up to now, MekongNet has implemented more than 46 POPs across the country and is focusing on major cities and provinces the nationwide network expansion plan is still in progress with the intention to fully cover all districts and communes by the next phases.
In addition, MekongNet is co-operating with APNIC, the Regional Internet Registry for the Asia Pacific region, one of four non-profit organizations that register and administer IP addresses.
The region served by APNIC covers the entire Asia Pacific, comprising 56 economies throughout Asia and Oceania. APNIC classifies these economies into four regions South, Southeast, Central-east, and Oceania.
Beside APNIC, MekongNet is working with Internet Systems Consortium, Inc. (ISC) is a non-profit public benefit corporation dedicated to supporting the infrastructure of the universal connected self-organizing Internet. ISC root servers is one of 13 root servers address, located in different places in over the world.
