VSIX, the Neutral Access Point of Northeast Italy, is a pivotal infrastructure established by the University of Padua. It aims to foster the use of the internet in the Veneto region through collaboration among local, national, and international Internet Service Providers.

The center manages the Internet Exchange of Padua, which is a crucial node for the research network in the Northeast. It serves as a meeting point for networks of public administration, internet operators, and the research network – GARR T, facilitating data exchange and technological integration for the benefit of citizens, businesses, and public administrations.

In 2019, VSIX achieved ISO 27001 certification and was recognized by the Internet Society's MANRS program for its adherence to best practices in internet routing. This acknowledgment underscores VSIX's commitment to providing a reliable, scalable, and high-performance internet access, which is essential for the development of innovative services in the region.
