NOCIX, initially known as Datashack, was established in downtown Kansas City. In 2009, due to growth, the company shifted its base north to North Kansas City, purchasing a 24,000 sq ft building at the intersection of 16th Ave and Clay St. Initially housing five printing companies, the building underwent significant modifications to become suitable for datacenter operations. After the remodeling, NOCIX relocated its dedicated infrastructure customers there, while its colocation customers remained at Oak Tower.
In a strategic move in 2016, NOCIX decided to relinquish its colocation clientele and the Oak Tower facility, narrowing its focus to infrastructure services. However, as demands for distinct colocation services persisted, NOCIX acquired a 150,000 sq ft segment of the former Hallmark warehouse at 1520 Swift, adjacent to their existing facility. This segment, now recognized as 1530 Swift, is currently under construction.
Upon completion, NOCIX plans to merge both locations, resulting in a campus spanning approximately 175,000 sq ft dedicated to datacenter functions and an additional 10,000 sq ft for office operations. This establishment will hold the distinction of being Kansas City's only Tier 3 certified facility and the nation's ninth Tier 4 Certified facility.
