IX Liverpool, also known as the Liverpool Internet Exchange, is a not-for-profit Layer 2 Internet Exchange Point (IXP) based in the Liverpool City Region (LCR). Founded in 2016, IX Liverpool aims to facilitate public peering in the North West of the UK. The exchange provides exclusive connectivity between its members by linking them at key geographical locations throughout the LCR.
IX Liverpool's membership includes a diverse mix of ISPs, network operators, and content providers with their own data networks. The exchange offers interconnection services within key data centers and "meet-me" locations across the region. These services range from public peering and closed user-groups to colocation and the operation of a real-time digital connectivity database for the region's buildings.
The Liverpool City Region is one of the best digitally connected places in the United Kingdom, boasting a strong membership community that includes some of the largest global access and content players, as well as enterprise, finance, media, broadcast, and gaming networks. IX Liverpool is committed to enhancing the digital infrastructure of the region, ensuring fast and secure data flow for its members' networks.
