The Ghana Internet eXchange Association (GIXA) is an independent non-profit corporation established by the Ghana Internet Service Providers Association (GISPA) and other stakeholders. Launched on October 18, 2005, GIXA operates the Ghana Internet eXchange (GIX), a facility that allows local Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Network Operators to exchange traffic within Ghana. This setup helps keep Ghanaian Internet traffic local, improving connectivity and services for customers while reducing the reliance on expensive international bandwidth solutions.
