Stockland is developing a five-story data center in Macquarie Park, Sydney, as part of its expansion into digital infrastructure. The facility, known as Athena, is expected to be leased to a major cloud computing provider, believed to be Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The data center will have an end-value of AU$264 million (US$204.3 million) and will include 6,300 square meters of data halls, 3,215 square meters of office space, and over 13,000 square meters dedicated to electrical and mechanical services.
To ensure operational reliability, the site will feature at least 10 diesel generators. The New South Wales Government has fast-tracked the project as a State Significant Development (SSD), recognizing the growing demand for digital infrastructure.
