Raxio Angola represents a significant milestone in the digital landscape of Angola as the country's first carrier-neutral Tier III data center. Scheduled to be commissioned in 2024, this state-of-the-art facility is strategically located in Cacuaco, near Luanda city center, and along the main fiber route, ensuring hyper-connectivity and accessibility. With up to 800 racks and 7MW of IT power across 4,000 square meters, Raxio Angola is designed to meet the burgeoning demand for digital tools and services across various industries, including financial services, telecoms, ISPs, and enterprise CDNs.
The data center boasts a robust infrastructure with full redundancy and concurrent maintainability, offering seven layers of physical security. Its design includes an administration block and ancillary buildings constructed traditionally, while the data hall and MEP rooms feature steel frames with concrete floors and vertical steel plate walls. The facility's power supply is fortified with 2N power redundancy from MV Transformer, Generator, UPS, Busbar to Rack PDU, and on-site fuel storage capable of supporting 72 hours at full capacity, ensuring uninterrupted service.
Complementing the technical specifications, Raxio Angola provides an optimized environment for IT equipment, with features such as 7MW of installed cooling provision, humidity control within ASHRAE TC9.9 recommended range, and a minimum N+1 resilience on all systems. This facility is not just a data center; it's a cornerstone for Angola's evolving digital infrastructure, set to make the internet experience faster, more resilient, and more affordable for all digital users in the region.
